COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 05/11/2012 - HAYSLEY, ANNA DEAN "DOLLY," 86, joined the love of her life, Elmer, in heaven on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Dolly was born in Louisville on June 21, 1925 and lived on Frankfort Avenue until she was married to Elmer on October 13, 1943. One week after they were married, she saw Elmer off to World War II and was waiting with open arms when he returned in 1945. They were happily married for 42 years. Dolly was co-owner of Haysley's Tavern of 41st and Market. For over 40 years, she was an active volunteer for the Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, completing her career as the cashier for Saintly Treasures. She was a member of St. Stephens UCC and the "Inbetweeners". She was a member of the Eastern Star, and a frequent volunteer for many PTA's across multiple schools. She is survived by three children, C.J. Haysley (Monica), Kenneth Haysley (Jacque), and loving daughter, Juanita Lehman; six grandchildren, Adam Haysley (Jenny), Major Brian Haysley, USAF (Chelsea), Heather Lehman, Ashley Lehman, Amanda Haysley and Doris Kay Harris; four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Adam Jr. Haysley, Emma Haysley and Alec Lehman; caregiver, Betty Jeffries; and her many friends. Her funeral will be on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2012 and also 10-11 a.m. on Monday at Highlands. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary.
