Obituary


John H Jump. who has been quite ill at the home of a sister near Sentinel, died Tuesday and was buried Wednesday morning at the Payne graveyard. He was a brother of Mrs. Lem Farmer and Mrs. Earl Farmer of Bolivar, and they and their husbands attended the funeral.

An obituary of Mr. Jump follows:

John Henry Jump was born on Jan. 12, 1861, and departed this life July 12, 1927, being 66 years and 6 months old. He had spent most of his life in Polk county.

He was married to Nar Siss Martin at the age of 22 years.

He is survived by a wife and ten children, only one of whom witnessed his death, she being Mrs. John Tirey, from Fairfax, Oklahoma. He has a wife and six children in Oklahoma. The children are Monroe, Albert, Dewey and Johnnie Jump and Tilda Hood, and Ina Richard and also Will Jump of Texas, Mrs. Minnie Capehart of Adonis, and Sarie Barker of Adonis, Mrs. Emma Tirey of Fairfax, Okla.

He had been in poor health for over two years.

He had about one month ago made a visit to Oklahoma. While there he was taken ill and returned to his sister's, Mrs. Jemima Richardson of near Sentinel, and remained there till his death.

He has seven sisters living and two brothers and two sisters who have already departed this life. He told them before he died that he was ready to go when the Lord saw fit to take him.

His body was laid to rest in the Payne Cemetery to await the resurrection morning.
