Violet Rose Wulfekuhl, age 77 of Kenmare, died Saturday, April 1, 1989, at the Kenmare Community Hospital. Her funeral will be Wednesday, April 5, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Kenmare. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The Rosary was recited on Tuesday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Celebrant for the Mass will be Fr. Eugene Bova. Organists will be Kenneth Busch and Maureen Munch. Vocalists will be Theresa Ankenbauer and Bruce Ankenbauer. Active casketbearers will include Greg, Doug, Mark, Jeff, Troy, Chad, Keith, Marvin and Richard Wulfekuhl, and Ronald Pumarlo.

She was born on March 12, 1912 on the family farm in Roseland Township of Burke County, a daughter of Amos and Rose (Dupont) Pumarlo. She attended rural schools in that area for her education and then married Ben Wulfekuhl at Kenmare on October 27, 1930. They lived and farmed in Roseland Township until moving into Kenmare in 1952. He died on July 23, 1978 and she has lived in Kenmare since that time. For several years Violet had worked at the Kenmare Deaconess Hospital.

She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church and the St. Jude Circle of the Church.

She is survived by her sons, Keith of Omaha, NE, Marvin of Biloxi, MS, and Richard of Fountain, CO; daughters, Marlene Blake of Seattle, WA, and Diane Grenvik of Midland, TX; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
