Charles "CL" Fender, 78, of Asheville, NC passed away, Monday, May 7th. He was a son of the late Hushai and Suffie Riddle Fender. CL was a Brick Mason and served in the Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Boone; brothers, Carlie and Landon Fender and sister, Juanita Dye.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda K. Holcombe Fender; children, Roger (Dede) Fender, Kathy (Mike) Boone, Teresa Fender, Cheryl (Eli) Hill, Terri (Bronson) Patton; sisters, Patsy Waugh, Penny Sheppard, Judy McGimsey, Linda Frady, Brenda Tweed and Irene Kiser; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 11th in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler will follow the service. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Linda Fender, 44 Meandering Trail, Asheville, NC 28806
Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn is assisting the family.
