Clay Bearden and Eleanor Wiggs were married in a Sunday afternoon ceremony June 16, 1950, officiated by Bro. Homer A. Cate, pastor of First Baptist Church, of Shelbyville, in the presence of their families.

The bride was attired in a ballerina length, white eyelet organdy gown and carrying a white prayer book and purple throated orchid. Her sister, Jean Wiggs was her attendant.

Upon their return they will make their home in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Bearden is a graduate of Bell Buckle High School and works with a furniture store in Shelbyville.

Mr. Bearden attended University of Tennessee and is a five year veteran of the Army Air Corps, presently employed at the U.S. Post Office in Shelbyville.

They would become the parents of Clay Frost Bearden Jr. and Alice Lynn Bearden.
