Roger was murdered, by the spree killer, Michael Silka, who was also the killer of 7 Manley Hot Springs, AK, residents, plus a 2 yr. old boy & unborn baby. Trooper Troy Duncan was killed in pursuit/confrontation of Silka. Roger was Silka's first known victim, in Hopkinsville, a small village outside of Fairbanks. His body was never recovered. Only 5 bodies out of 11 were ever recovered. Their graves are in the Tanana River...Roger was survived by his father, John F., mother, Rosemary, his 2 brothers, John & Douglas, and his 2 daughters Corinne & Jennifer. Roger moved to Alaska in 1976 to work on the Alaska pipeline, and chose to stay...
