Obituary:
James Ashton, aged 55 years, 10 months, and three days passed away at the Clinton Hospital this morning following a two week's illness. The deceased was born in England but came to this country when a small boy. He has been a resident of this town for the past 16 years and had been employed as a loom-fixer at the Roubaix Mills. He was a member of the Baptist church. Besides his wife Ellen (Jackson) Ashton, he is survived by five children: Helen, Francis, Albert, Gladys, and William J., all of this town. Two sisters, Mrs. Sara Roberts and Mrs. Nancy Tibbetts; two brothers, William and John, all of Providence, R.I. The funeral services will be held at the home Monday afternoon. Rev. Burton F. Long will officiate. Interment will take place in Cranston, R.I. in charge of W.E. King, undertaker.
