Son of Lesley and Flora Ann (Tarence) Cleghorn. He served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a farmer by profession, raising crops, cattle, and chickens. He was a 70-year member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Helicon AL where he was a Deacon for 46 years and Chairman for 32 years, and was also a member of the American Legion. He is survived by two sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
