The Graveside Service for Mildred Johnson, age 100 of McIntosh, will be held at 2:00pm MT on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon with Pastor Audie Brockel, officiating.

MILDRED NETTIE McCLEMENTS was born January 25, 1912, on the family homestead 6 miles north of McIntosh, SD in Sioux Co., ND to Robert and Hattie Mae (Jenks) McClements. She attended country school near the farm home and rode horse for one year to McIntosh where she attended high school.

In July of 1932, she was united in marriage to John Martin Johnson. They lived in Mellette, SD and then moved to McIntosh in 1937. Two children, Ruth and Joyce were born to this union.

Mildred loved life on the prairie and adored the farm animals. She was quite knowledgeable in animal husbandry. Indeed she continued to keep and breed a few head of Hereford cattle into her seventies. Mildred recently was in good spirits visiting and enjoying her 100th birthday celebration with family, close friends, wonderful neighbors and staff at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.

Mildred passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Five Counties Nursing Home.

Surviving are her daughter Joyce McGrath, DeSoto, TX; 8 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter, Ruth Eileen Watson, her brothers and sisters, Ethel Grace Puckett, Alvin Robert McClements, John Edgar McClements, Edna Mae Olson, Marvin Edward Mcclements, Jean Harriet Puckett and her daughter Ruth Eileen Watson.
