Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - July 5, 1990. Deceased Name: DEATH: RUTH HEMMING JOHNSON. Ruth Pauline Wale Hemming Johnson, age 97, died July 3, 1990, in a Salt Lake convalescent center. Born September 2, 1892 in Providence, Utah Territory to William and Pauline Biessinger Wale. Married John S. Hemming in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died. Later married Thomas D. Johnson, he died. Active member of the LDS Church having served in many positions and served as ward organist for many years.

Survived by two sons and three daughters, Dennis Hemming and wife, Ann; Mrs. Lorraine Tulin; Mrs. Weldon (Mary Ann) Webster; daughter-in-law, Louise Hemming, all Salt Lake; Leon Hemming and wife, Ruth, Napa Valley, California; Mrs. Asiel (June) Blair, Bountiful, Utah; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Mrs. Howard (Elaine) Heninger, Chubbuck, Idaho; and a brother, Floyd Wale, Sacramento, California.

Preceded in death by a son, Wallace Hemming. Funeral services Saturday, July 7th, 2 pm, Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Friday evening 6-8 pm, and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
