CHARLES L. ELGIN DIES OF PNEUMONIA

Charles L. Elgin, aged 91 years, died last Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry York, at Shawnee. Pneumonia was the cause of death.

Charles Lee Elgin was born in Shelby County, Missouri, September 15, 1845, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Elgin. He was married there to Lucy Ann Graves February 10, 1870. Mrs. Elgin died May 30, 1901.

In 1908 Mr. Elgin moved to Wyoming with his family and settled in the Shawnee community.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Henry York and Mrs. Tom York of Shawnee, Mrs. Delia Mobley of Ione, Ore., Mrs. Rose Doke of Foster, Mo.; a son, Charles, of Rich Hill, Mo.; 31 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Emelie Todd of Shelby County, Missouri and Mrs. Belle Crutchfield of Ione, Ore.

Funeral services were held at the Hofmann Chapel Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. J. M. Falconer. The body was shipped to Foster, Mo., for burial.
