She was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Atlas, Va, and came to Sarasota in 1961 from Punta Gorda. She moved to Bradenton in 1994. She retired after 17 years at the tax collectors office of Sarasota. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Cook of Bradenton; sons Richard W. of Granite Bay, Calif., and Michael H. of Bradenton; a sister, Marie Hancock of Ocala; a brother, Roger Collie of Richmond, Va; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-2pm Saturday, with a service to follow, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel. Burial will be at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto. Memorial donations may be made to the South Manatee Branch Library "The Tree of Giving," 6081 26th St. W., Bradenton, FL; or to the Humane Society of Manatee County Inc., 2515 14th St. W., Bradenton, FL.
