A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was a Meter Reader for the City of Asheville and attended Swannanoa Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Parker was a son of the late Carroll Grady Parker and Helen Elizabeth Capps Parker.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Parker of the home; sons, David Parker and wife Jackie of Plain City, UT, Kenny Parker and wife Ashley of Candler and Chris Parker and wife Lisa of Morganton; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Mike Parker, Steve Parker and Randy Parker and sisters, Ruby Ward and Linda Mathis.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at Swannanoa Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Ward officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the church.
