Justin Christopher Ward, age 34, passed away April 19, 2012 at his home in Moab, Utah.
He was born on September 8, 1977 in Williston, North Dakota to Diane Sampson and Gary Ward. Justin grew up in Sidney, MT and graduated from Sidney High School in 1996. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman and later graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
From a young age, Justin loved playing all sports. He would even force his little sisters to play catch and "be the goalie" whenever his friends weren't available. He played hockey for 13 years and his teammates dubbed him "Hollywood" because of his overly dramatic antics on the ice. The weekend after the last hockey game of the season, he and his buddies would continue the season, every year, with a hockey tournament of their own on rollerblades.
Justin spent his summers at "the farm" helping Gram with the crops and cattle. He would work during the day and spend his evenings at Brush Lake, jet skiing with his siblings and cousins. He was a natural born fisherman and always caught the most fish. He loved the outdoors.
Justin was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Colorado Avalanche and attended several live games of each. He would spend his Sundays watching his Vikings on TV and texting with his family. For every touchdown, he would send a simple "Whoop" or "Yo Adrian."
Justin was always ready to organize a trip. He would go with siblings, parents, uncles, friends, and cousins. Basically anyone who could make it was invited. He had a magnetic personality that drew friends wherever he went.
His passion for golf grew as he got older. Anytime he could sneak away, he would go play. One of the things that he loved about living in Moab was that there were a lot more nice days to golf there than there were in Montana.
To his family and friends, Justin was the most caring and loving person. He had a great sense of adventure and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He was greatly loved and we will miss him forever.
Justin leaves behind his parents Diane Nagel, Price, UT, and Gary Ward, Sidney, MT; brother, Jeremie (Annie) Mesa, AZ; sisters, Kristen Ward, Sidney, Amber (Brian) Sissel, Sidney; nephew and niece, Jacob and Katelyn Sissel; grandmother, Dolores Sampson, Dagmar; grandparents Bernt and Arline Ward, Plentywood, MT; aunts Beverly (David) Cybulski, Plentywood, MT, Barb (Ron) Fink, Raymond, MT, Cleo Murray, MN, uncles, Roger Ward, Wilhoit, AZ, Wes Ward, Plentywood, MT, stepdad, Ernie Nagel, Sidney, MT, cousins, Vince, Janet, Christopher, Jorel, John, Tracy, Kala and Randi; friend Lisa, and numerous friends all across the country.
Justin is preceded in death by his brother Neal, grandpa Dennis Sampson; and his great grandparents.
