Mrs. Nancy Ray Crosses Divide
Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Mrs. Nancy Eddy Ray, wife of the late W.H. Ray. For two years Mrs. Ray, known to her friends as Grandma, has been a bedridden sufferer in the home of her daughter Mrs. Florence Neeley in Santa Rosa. Mrs. Neeley during these two years has devoted her entire time and attention to the needs of her loved mother and her work has been truly a labor of love and filial devotion. For twenty four years Grandma Ray was a resident of Geyserville, loved and respected by all who knew her and her death will be felt keenly by scores of friends in this vicinity.
Her husband W. H. Ray passed away five years ago January 4th. The aged couple had the unusual pleasure of celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary. Grandma Ray was 87 years, 11 months and 12 days of age at the time of her death.
Those left to mourn the loss of a devoted and loving mother are I. Ray of Lebanon, Kansas, W.A. Ray of Tonopah, Nevada, J.V. Ray of Ukiah, I.E., C.H. and M.A. Ray of Walnut Creek, W.O. Ray of Geyserville, Mrs. Tusetta Rogers of Kimkle, Ohio and Mrs. Florence Neeley of Santa Rosa. There are twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
The funeral services took place in Geyserville Thursday afternoon from the Christian church with Rev. Davis officiating and interment was in Olive Hill cemetery.
