Paternal Grandparents: Arthur Laurens Davis (1860 - 1929)Eric leaves behind his wife Glenna; His 3 sons, jerry, Lauren, & Keith; 6 grandsons;
8 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, and many other loved ones.

Eric was born in San Fernando to George Albert Davis & Mary Elsie Ball Davis. His father passed away when Eric was about six years old. Early in his life his mother moved the family to Solana Beach, where he grew up and went to school.

In 1949, Eric married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Lorang, and soon
started his family. He was a hands-on guy and built each adobe block of his home by hand. He lived in that house for over 60 years. He was employed by Pacific Bell and AT&T for many years, working in Oceanside, Escondido and San Diego locations.

After work, he loved to tend to his large garden and grew corn, beans, strawberries and watermelons. These crops often supplemented his income and became a source for new school clothes for the boys. On weekends, Eric and his family spent much time camping in the Anza-Borrego desert.

In the 1970's, with the encouragement of his good friend Dr. Dwight Cook, Eric learned to fly and got his private pilot's license and instrument rating. Many hours were spent on this new endeavor and he built his own airplane, a Rutan Long-EZ.

In 1990, Eric married Glenna Nelson, and they had many happy years together. They spent much time at their beach house in Baja California, Mexico, where they had plenty of friends. They also flew cross-country in Eric's airplane several
times.

Eric always had a number of projects that he was working on. His more notable projects included his beach house in Baja, the school house in Mexico, his Long EZ airplane, and his Palomar property. He spent countless hours working on these projects, but always had the time to help others. He would never pass a motorist in need of help.

Ice cream, ice cream! He had a passion for ice cream. Eric made sure his family and friends always had ice cream available. He would take ice cream down to his place in Mexico and hand it out to one and all.
