Charlotte Observer - Dec. 3, 1915 MRS. HANSELL DEAD*******Native of Charlotte Dies at Hendersonville***Mrs. John W Bradfield of North Tryon street was notified yesterday of the death of her sister, Mrs. Lelia Davidson Hansell, wife of Judge C P Hansell, at Hendersonville. Eighteen months ago Judge and Mrs. Hansell, seeking to improve the latter's health, went to Hendersonville where she died yesterday. Their home was in Thomasville, Ga., but it was the request of Mrs. Hansell that interment should be made at the mountain city where the last year of her life was spent. The funeral will be held this morning at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Bradfield is unable to attend the service. Her son, John Bradfield, left yesterday for Hendersonville.*********Mrs. Hansell was a native of Charlotte having been born at the Davidson home on East Seventh street, near the railroad. She was a daughter of the late Dr. Joseph M. Davidson and Mrs. Mary Caldwell Davidson, members of well-known Mecklenburg families.******She was one of nine children and Mrs. Bradfield is the last surviving member of the family circle. Within three years six members have died. Mrs. Josephine Davidson Mallard of South Carolina, Harold and Wilmer Davidson, who died within a day in Florida, her mother who died a few days later, then Col. John Caldwell Davidson who died last year.*****Until her marriage in 1898, Mrs. Hansell lived in Charlotte. She was about 54[?] years old. She was beloved to many friends for her personality of exceptional charm and her character of unusual beauty. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
