Ernest Lee "Swede" Anderson, 83, of Hepburnia died Friday at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 29, 1928 in Hepburnia, he was the son of Ernest J. and Eva D. (Guiher) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson had been employed by NARCO in Curwensville, retiring after 45 years of service and he was also a farmer. He was a member of the Hepburnia United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
On March 2, 1951 in Hyde, he wed the former Donna Hepfer, who survives along with seven children, Patty Blankley and her husband, Terry and Dick Anderson and his wife Becky, both of DuBois; Mary Royer and her husband, Bill; Sandy Holt and her husband, Gary; and Terry Lee Anderson and his wife, Brenda, all of Hepburnia; William Anderson and his wife, LuAnn of Chestnut Grove; and Jim Anderson and his wife, Cindy of Clearfield.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Thelma Lucas of Chestnut Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Virginia Mae Anderson and two brothers, Tom and Andy Anderson.
Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating.
Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery Grampian.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield American Legion and Clearfield VFW Joint Honor Guard.
