Marisa was born on June 27, 1957, in Beeville, Texas a daughter of the late Lloyd Enos Canoy, Sr. and Luisa Troncone Canoy, who survives her of Sophia. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by the father of her daughters David Scott Pendry, maternal Troncone grandparents of Naples, Italy and paternal Canoy grandparents. She was from the Flint Hill area and lived there most of her life. Marisa was employed with Wollsdorf Leather, formerly Schmidt America for the last 17 years and was currently still employed there. She was also a member of Flint Hill United Church of Christ and was currently attending Hope Baptist Church. Marisa attended and graduated from Trinity High School. She was a loving and generous person and enjoyed helping people in need. She also enjoyed going to the beach, motorcycles, hanging out at the "White House" and spending time with friends and family. She was the president and inspiration for The Fight Club. Marisa was a breast cancer survivor. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by two daughters: Brooke Pendry Thompson and her children, Kaleb and Sydnie Thompson, and Lauren Scott Pendry all of Archdale; mother, Luisa Troncone Canoy of Sophia; four brothers and sisters: Sheila Canoy Auten and her husband, Brice, of Huntersville, Lloyd "Leo" Canoy Jr., Larry Keith Canoy, and Lori Canoy Weatherman and her husband, Tommy, all of Flint Hill; a son in law, Mark Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews and several special friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, April 19th at Hope Baptist Church, 4872 Old Edgar Road, Sophia, NC with Rev. Steve Swaim, Jamie Stevenson, and Rev. Jack Clark. Burial will follow after the services at Flint Hill United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home of Marisa.
