[Heart only] Archduchess of Austria. Queen of Portugal. Daughter of Emperor Leopold I. and Eleonore Magdalene von Neuburg. She loved the ballet and danced at the court theater and was fluent in several languages. On October 27, 1708 she married King João V of Portugal and gave birth to six children. Her spouse suffered a crippling stroke in 1742, making it impossible for him to carry out his duties as a ruling monarch. Assisted by advisers, she conducted the government until his death eight years later. It was her wish, that her heart should be buried in Vienna. Her body rests beside her husbands in São Vicente de Fora in Lisbon.
