John Cariker, 56, died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital after collapsing downtown a few minutes earlier. Funeral services for John will be at the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery.
John was born and raised in Enid, Ok. He lived in Texas and Detroit, Michigan before returning 31 years ago to make his home in Enid.
He had been employed by Franks Machine Company, Koehring Company as a welder and chief steward of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union.
He and Evelyn Fletcher were married in Paris, Texas, May 5, 1935.
Survivors are his wife Evelyn of the home at 1624 W. Walnut; two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Joy Dusini, Dacoma, Washington, Mrs Karen Dolton, New York City; a son, John Fletcher Cariker, Stillwater; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Clyde Harding, Auburn, Me., his mother-in-law, Mrs. F.C. Fletcher, Enid.
