Mr. Oxenreider was born in Lucas County, 28 October 1919 to Harland Taylor and Myrtle (Nussbaum) Oxenreider. He lived in the Chariton area all his life. He was a retired farmer, a Marine veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lucas County Historical Society and Chariton Christian Union Church.
He had been a 4-H leader and had served as president of the Lucas Co. Fair Board. He also had served on the board of Liberty Township trustees. He enjoyed family activities, farming and pitching horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife, EVELYN; two sons, CRAIG and ROE, and two daughters, JOANNIE and BETH, all of Chariton; a brother, ORLIN of Gulfport, MS. and a sister, LAVIDA Richards of Sweet Home, OR.
