HOT SPRINGS - George Eugene Gentry, 46, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Spring Creek, he had been employed by Norfolk-Southern Railway for
25 years. Mr. Gentry was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He was loved by so many that knew him and enjoyed planting and landscaping.
Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by his father, George Washington Gentry, and sisters, Jeanette "Little T" Gentry and Geneva Snelson. Mr. Gentry is survived by his wife of 28 1/2 years, Debra Ann Gentry; daughters, Heather Nicole and Jessica Anne Gentry; son, Joe Donald Gentry; mother, Ethel Plemmons Gentry; sisters, Juanita Norton, Kathy Frisby and Sue Gentry; brothers, Kenneth, Harold, Curtis, Phil, Sherrill and Colin Gentry; grandson, Chance; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Gentry will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist Church. The Revs. Sherman Tweed and Greg Warren will officiate. A musical tribute will be given by Polly Fowler, Danny Ray Kirkpatrick, Glenn Plemmons and Nellie Kirkpatrick. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Madison Funeral Home.
