Mrs. Myers was born August 30, 1874, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Byers. She received her formal schooling at the Francesville Seminary. As a young woman she earned a living as a seamstress. She was married to Hartwell A. Myers in 1895. He died in 1935.
She worked in the various organizations of the Christian church during the active years of her life and at the time of her death was its oldest member. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and at her passing was the Francesville correspondent for the Lafayette Journal-Courier, and has been for over thirty years.
She is survived by her five children, Miss Nina Myers of Monticello; Hal Myers of North Miami Beach, Fla.; Wayne of Hammond; Ralph and Ted Myers of Francesville; also thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. May Myers of Francesville.
Services were conducted at the Querry Funeral Home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Ralph Messick officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery. Order of the Eastern Star services were held at the funeral home Saturday evening.
