Robert W. "Bob" Garrison, 67, Pittsburg, died at 1:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15 2004, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. he was born Feb. 18 1937, at Pittsburg, the son of Delbert & Bertie Jefferies Garrison. He attended local schools & was a 1956 Pittsburg High School graduate. He worked for Hofer Truck Lines, and later became an insurance agent for American Family Insurance Company.
He was most recently working for USD 250 as a bus driver. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard. He was a member of the Countryside Christian Church; a former member of Pittsburg Optimist Club; Mirza Shrine; Gents & Janes Square Dance Club; & was a active in helping start the PHS Booster Club.
On July 19, 1957, he married Betty Hardesty at Pittsburg. She survives at the home. Additional survivors include three daughters, the Rev. Shelly Garrison of Colorado Springs, Colo., Teresa Plouvier of Frontenac, & Sherry Garrison of Overland Park; and four grandsons. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Garrison.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Countryside Christian Church with Dan Muter, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Brenner Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call after 10 a.m. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Teresa Plouvier, 240 N. Cayuga, Frontenac. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth, Pittsburg.
