Beloved cat of Melissa and Steve Silen. Such a wonderful little spirit. He died of a urinary tract blockage at age 5.
Lightning Bug and his brother Kimba came to live with us when we rescued a momma cat and her five kittens from an abandoned car. The cats were locked in the car with a bag of food, but it was too hot for them to be in there! Lightning and Kimba wouldn't nurse from their momma so my husband and I hand fed them. Momma cat and the other 3 kittens found homes. My husband told me I could keep one of the kittens so I chose Lightning Bug. However my husband had become so attached to Kimba that we kept them both.
