Miss Gibbs died Friday morning in Ball Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a traffic accident Thursday.
Born in Park Ridge, Ill., Miss Gibbs and her family moved to Muncie in 1980. She was a junior at Cowan Junior-Senior High School, where she was a member of the color guard. She attended Southside Church of the Nazarene, where she participated in the youth group and youth choir.
She was a waitress at the Ponderosa on South Madison Street.
Suvivors include her father and step-mother, Charles "Tom" and Jayne Gibbs, Muncie; her mother and step-father, Melinda and Al Chapman, Ozark, Ala.; a sister, Victoria Gibbs, Ozark; Two step-brothers, Damon and Derron Price, Muncie; her grandparents, Lillian Crowe, Ozark, and Mr. and Mrs. Will Brinker, Muncie; her great-grandmother, Harriet Brinker, Ft. Wayne;step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John McCreery, Muncie; and her step-great-grandmother, Edith Crump, Muncie.
Visitors may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Southside Nazarene Church youth group.
