James William Allen, 75, of Magee died May 26 at the family residence.
The Smith County native was a member of South Shady Grove Church of God, Smith County, and a retired farmer.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. May 28 at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L. E. Pate, Rev. Troy Rushing, Rev. J. D. Walker, Rev. Charles R. Burnham, and Rev. John L. Jones officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Velma Allen, Magee; four daughters. Mrs. Willie George Blair and Mrs. Ruby Palmer, both of Mendenhall, and Mrs. Dauphine Little and Mrs. Frances Purser, both of Magee; two sons, James Rudolph Allen, Pearl and Charles Mitchell Allen, Magee; one brother, Noel Allen, Magee; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
