Phillip Neal Younger, 61, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at his home of natural causes. He was born on November 30, 1947 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Irvil K. and Doris Barker Younger. Phil served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He married Kim Hadley on May 15, 1977 in Elko, Nevada. They had a daughter, Brittnee and they were later divorced. Phil worked at DDO, Wadsworth Construction and Hill Air Force Base, where he retired as a Supervisor in 2003. He enjoyed golf, outdoors, riding on his Harley, and being with his family and grandkids. Surviving are his two daughters, Brittnee (Casey) Crossman; Mandi (Jeremy) Cox; four grandchildren, Kaylee, Kenzee, Kobe Crossman and Bridger Cox. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Doug (Maryann) Younger; Cheryl (Bert) Moffitt; Meridith (Carl) Olson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank all his friends and the special people at the Shack for the friendship they shared. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, Sept 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Willard City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans of Box Elder County.
