Four members of a Jay County family were among five persons
who died in a three vehicle accident Sunday night in Delaware County.
The dead were identified as Larry Sargent,33, his 9 year
old son Brian, 3 year old daughter Lisa and 5 year old
daughter Julie, and Larry E. Zimmerman, 17, Dunkirk.
Sargent's 35 year old wife, Cheryllan, was hospitalized at
Muncie in critical condition.
Police said the Sargent family, traveling in a pickup truck
loaded with household items, was northbound on Indiana I67
south of Dunkirk when Zimmerman's car crossed the center
line and struck the truck headon.
Another car smashed against the rear of the Sargent truck,
but the two occupants of that auto were unhurt, police said.
