William "Bill" M. Ainsworth Sr., 81, of Belmont, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.

Born in Manchester on Dec. 14, 1918, he was the son of the late Archie and Dorothy (Stocker) Ainsworth Sr. He had lived in Belmont for the past 46 years.

Mr. Ainsworth served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion of Belmont.

He worked for Persons Concrete as a construction worker for 32 years.

He was predeceased by a son, Douglas Ainsworth, in 1989, and by a grandson, Dana L. Ainsworth Jr., in 1984.
