Mrs. Wilma Bargo Smith age 59 of Callebs Creek was born on February 21, 1952 in Oneida, KY to the late Gabe and Axie Messer Bargo and went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at her home. She was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed singing gospel music, gardening and time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She sang with The Soul Winners for over 20 years. On April 15, 1972 she was united in marriage to Harold Smith and to this union 1 son was born.

In addition to her parents: Gabe and Axie Messer Bargo; 3 brothers: Dallas Bargo, Leatice Bargo, and David Bargo; and a sister: Virginia Bargo preceded her in death.

Wilma is survived by her loving husband of over 39 years: Harold Smith of Hinkle; her son: Doyle Lynn Smith and wife Robin of Girdler; 2 sisters: Christine Jones and husband Harvey of Belleville, MI and Anna Lois Bargo of Hinkle, KY; 3 brothers: Willard Bargo and wife Mossie of Hinkle, KY, Loyd Bargo and wife Linda of Cannon, KY, and Denver Bargo and wife Emily of Girdler, KY; 3 grandchildren: Taylor Danielle Smith, Kaylee Paige Smith, and Abbagail Madison Smith; a special friend: Gloria McBee; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilma Bargo Smith will be conducted Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church at Callebs Creek with Rev. Rick Thomas, Rev. Reed Murphy, and Rev. Danny Hembree officiating. Burial will follow in the Callebs Creek Cemetery with Tony Bargo, Ricky Bargo, Kevin Bargo, Jeffery Bargo, Noel Jones, Shawn Smith, Austin Woolum, IV Smith, and Richard Moore serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be all the workers of Hospice of the Bluegrass: Bethany Outland (Social Worker), Kathy Smith (RN), Alice Tremaine (Chaplin), Rita Dople (Home Care Aide), and Christine Kliethermes (Social Worker). Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church Friday from 6PM til the Funeral Hour at 2pm on Sunday.
