PAUL A. KASPARBAUER
Mass of the Christian burial for Paul A. Kasparbauer of rural Templeton will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton.

Mr. Kasparbauer, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at his residence following a long illness.

The Rev. Dale Reiff will preside at the Mass. Lector will be Tom Smith. Gift bearers will be Melissa, Amanda and Jeremy Kerber. Servers will be Molly and Stephanie Smith.
Eucharistic minister will be John Rohe.

Casket bearers will be Dave Ramsey, Bernard Irlbeck, Dick Irlbeck, Steve Irlbeck, John Rohe and Bernard Wieland.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Templeton.

Visitation began at 2:30 and a rosary was recited at 3 this afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Sacred Heart Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 and the Templeton Knights of Columbus will lead a rosary at 8 tonight at the funeral home.

A son of Paul J. and Catherine(Hacker) Kasparbauer, he was born Aug. 2, 1920, at Manning. His family moved south of Templeton when he was 9 and he attended Sacred Heart School.

He and Teresa Vonnahme were married June 4, 1946, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel with the Rev. Peter Sturm officiating. The couple spent their entire married life on the family farm south of Templeton. Mr. Kasparbauer was a livestock and grain farmer.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the Templeton Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Carroll County Beef Producers Association and Templeton Tug of War Team, which he later coached.

Mr. Kasparbauer enjoyed farming, watching wrestling on television, fishing and visiting with his friends.

Survivors include his wife,Teresa Kasparbauer, of Templeton; eight children: Teresa Smith and her husband, Tom, of Burlington, Wis., Marie Eischeid and her husband, Gary, of Manning, Marguerite Nielsen and her husband,Dennis, of Carroll, Annette Firkus and her husband, Rich,of Stevens Point, Wis., Kathy Kasparbauer of Pueblo, Colo., Mary Smith of Emmetsburg, Paul Kasparbauer Jr. of Templeton and Shirley Kerber and her husband, Kent, of Mount Carmel; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kasparbauer was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Lucy and Louise Kasparbauer, in infancy; two grandchildren: Kristine Nielsen and Nicholas Smith; a
son-in-law, Roger Smith; three sisters, Hilda Vogl, Loretta Venteicher and Katherine Irlbeck; and a brother, Frank Kasparbauer.
