Martha W. Johnson,98,of Springport passed away Tuesday afternoon Oct. 25,2011 at the Waters of New Castle,
She was born May 27,1915 in Clinton Co.,KY and was the daughter of the late Albert and Uera (Conner) Marcum.
She formly attended the United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs and currently attended the church services at the Waters. She enjoyed sewing,quilting and gardening.
She is survived by two sons,Harold (wife Kathy) Johnson of Springport and Hervie (wife Leslie) Johnson also of Springport;five grandchildren, Keith (wife Patty)Johnson,Bruce (wife Kellie) Johnson,Adam Johnson,Matt Johnson and Austin (Virgil) Matthews;four great grandchildren; Lance,Megan,Makenzie and Katelyn Johnson and one great-great grandchild,Cotton Johnson. Several nieces,nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Merlie Johnson,who died on Sept. 9,1980 and by one brother,Orlie Marcum and one sister,Odie Sturnes.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday Oct,. 29,at the Main & Davis Funeral Home,Astor Main Blue River Chapel located midway between Mooreland and Mt. Summit on U.S. 36 across from Blue River Schools. Rev. Bruce Crabtree will officate. Burial will follow in the Springport Cemetery.
