Professional Soccer Player. He was a recognized Swedish soccer player, who was inducted in "Hall of Fame" as one of the best players of all time. He played 94 international games for Sweden, and received the Silver Medal in the World Cup of 1958. That same year, he received "Guldbollen" (The Golden Ball) for best player of the year. He was a defensive player. He also became a professional in Italy, playing for AS Roma. Retiring after his splendid career in 1966, he commenced a new one as coach for the Swedish international team, coaching the team through World Cup in Mexico 1970. He was a successful Bandy-player as well, and was three times Swedish Champion with Örebro SK, and played 20 international games for Sweden. In his hometown of Örebro, he was honored with the street, The Orvar Bergmark Place, in 2003. Bergmark was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1980, which was the cause of his death.
