He was a son to Roger Lee and Ruth (Burkett) Tangeman Sr. His mother, Ruth Gaimari, survives in Tucson, AZ. He married Mary Hammons, who survives in Pataskala.
Also surviving are a son, Caleb (Andrea), MI; a daughter, Kaleena (Adam) Gauthier, Virginia Beach, VA; two stepchildren: Kyle Pulfer, Quincy, and Shauna (Daniel) Pulfer, KY; a brother, Michael (Ine), Shakopee, MN; five sisters: Melanie (Bill) Horstman and Nora (Bill) Fritz, both Tucson, AZ, Rebecca Tangeman, Reynoldsburg, Rochelle (Jerry) Dempsey, Grove City, and Robin Caleodis, Columbus; and five grandchildren: Emma Gauthier, Evah Gauthier, Aliyah Tangeman, Azlinn Tangeman and Teagan Jaynes.
He was a 1980 graduate of Jackson Center High School. He worked at Thrifty Propane, Columbus, as the plant manager and in delivery service. He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, and going to fish frys.
A memorial service will be at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Sidney, with Brent Wright officiating.
