Betty Jane Adams, 84, of Berlin, PA, formerly of Somerset, died March 18, 2012 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.
Born Oct. 31, 1927 in Somerset, PA, daughter of Harry Clyde and Alice Mae (Umberger) Landis.
Preceded in death by parents, husband Elroy J. Byrd who died August 17, 1980. Survived by daughter, Cheryl Cook of East Berlin, PA; grandchildren: Donald Ulzheimer and wife Michelle of Camp Hill, PA, Kirsten Flanagan and husband John of Villanova, Troy Ulzheimer and companion Anna Hnativ of Dillsburg; great-grandchildren: Don, Amanda, Mason and Taylor and sister, Pauline E. Davis of Somerset. Betty is a graduate of Shanksville High School. She had worked for the former Somerset State Hospital, member of Trinity Lutheran Church the Ladies Auxiliaries of VFW Post 554, and American Legion Post 181.
Friends received one hour prior to the service which will conducted 12 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home Somerset, with the Rev. Linda J. McElroy-Thomas officiating.
Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
