Born July 11, 1921 in Winchester, he was the son of Gola and Delia (Cranfill) McCune. A glass bottle machine operator at Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corp. in Dunkirk for 37 years, he had lived in Dunkirk for 32 years, where he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Ruth McCune, Dunkirk; three sons, David L. McCune, Dayton, Texas, and Anthony B. Jones and Kevin L. Jones bothe of Dunkirk; three daughters, Judith D. Robertson, Vero Beach, Fla., Wanda J. Schultz, Fort Wayne, and Linda L Skinner, Elwood; two brothers, Howard McCune, Indianapolis, and James McCune Dunkirk; two sisters, Evelyn Shroyer, Dunkirk, and Lucille Knife, Eaton; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife Dorothy (Hardamon) McCune.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the D W Jones Chapel of MJS Mortuaries in Dunkirk, with the Rev. John Abshear officiating.
Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetary, Dunkirk, with American Legion Post 227 conducting graveside rites.
