Ronald Dean Townsend, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the age of 57. He was born on June 23, 1954 to William Vernon and Genevieve (Unsell) Townsend in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was a licensed minister in Tulsa County and was a Deacon and member of the Tallahassee Methodist Church in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Cindy Townsend of the home; four children, Melanie Teague and husband, Ricky of Richland Hills, TX, Jessica Thomas and husband, Gordon of Canyon, TX, William Townsend and wife, Caytie of League City, TX and Elizabeth Buck and husband, Phil of Berre, Mass; one brother, Eddie Townsend and wife, Donna of Arlington, TX; two grandchildren, Brandy Teague and Josaphina Buck. Wake Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 19th at the Tallahassee Indian Methodist Church in Okmulgee. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Tallahassee Indian Methodist Church with Reverend Alfred Berryhill and Pastor Sammy Chupco officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Tallahassee Indian Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
