Born in Dalton, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Lila (Bresse) Weir. She was raised and educated in Westborough, attended the Congregational Church of Westborough and received her high schooldiploma from the Canton Public Schools.
She is survived by her seven children, Sheila G. Noonan of Mashpee, Sandra L. Gates of Hollister, Missouri, Stephen H. Gates of Scituate, Shelly G. Hamilburg of Wayland, Scott K. Gates of Haverhill, Shayne A. Vacca of Brockton and Shawn J. Gates of Stoughton; one sister, Roberta Goddard of Merrimack, N.H.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Curtis Weir.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, Oct: 17, at 4 p.m., in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Hope Cemetery of Worcester will be private. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
