"Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Church of the Cross, Bismarck, for Hospitalman Randall Abbott, 25, Bismarck, who died Friday in Portsmouth, Va., where he was stationed with the U.S. Navy. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Pierre, S.D.

He was born June 1, 1956, in Pierre, attended Pierre High School and in 1974 graduated from Marysville (Kan.) High School. He studied at South Dakota State University at Brookings, Mary College at Bismarck and North Dakota State University before entering the Navy in 1976.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Abbott of Bismarck; grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Olson of Watertown, S.D.; one sister, Mrs. Steve Stoeser of Fort Pierre, S.D.; and two brothers, Reed of Fargo, N.D., and Christopher of Bismarck."
