"Charles A Akam, 19, of Corry, RD1, died late Monday morning at his home. He was born Feb 20, 1957, at Corry, the son of Charles and Frances Donovan Akam. Mr Akam attended Conelway Grade School and was a graduate of Corry Area High School, Class of 1976. While in high school, he was a member of the varsity football team, was president of Future Farmers of America and was awarded the Star Farmer and Keystone awards. Following graduation, he was employed by Don Morrison Construction Co, Edinboro, and since July 15, had been an employe of Rogers' Structural Steel Co of Corry. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sisters..., his maternal grandfather, Fred Donovan of Titusville, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs Ena Akam of Corry, RD 1. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, Corry...and attend the funeral there Thursday at 11 am, with Rev Joseph Bodie, pastor of Spring Creek and West Spring Creek Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at West Spring Creek."
