Edmond was born in Douglas County, Missouri. He was the first child born to Samuel J. and Mary Elizzibeth Whitworth Sebree. His mother died when he was fourteen and he moved to Kansas City. His father remarried and Ed learned to take care of himself. He was a veteran of World War I serving in Germany. He joined the Kansas City Police Department in 1924 and retired after serving there for twenty-seven years.
He married Katherine R. Adams Gaiser. They enjoyed many years together until her death in 1961. They never had any children together.
Ed taught himself to play the fiddle and loved to lean back and just play.
He and Katherine loved having pets and enjoyed living on a small piece of land in Lee's Summitt where they had several animals
