MRS. CARRIE ELIZABETH H. CALK
SALUDA – Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Herlong Calk, 85, of Route 4, widow of Homer L. Calk Sr., died March 11, 1988 at the Edgefield County Hospital.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Johnny and Mrs. Emmie Grigsby Herlong. She was former owner and operator of Calk Grocery Store and was a member of Emory United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Mary) Cary of Saluda; a son, Willie James Calk of Saluda; two sisters, Mrs. J.B. (Kathleen) Hill of Ware Shoals, and Mrs. Willie (Nellie) Wright of Ward; a brother, Walter Padgett of Saluda; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wash Belangia officiating.
The body is at Ramey Funeral Home, Saluda.
