R. B. Miller, 85, of Christian, walked into the beautiful garden alone while the dew was still on the roses on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was born December 20, 1926, at Catherine, the son of the late E.A. and Myrtle Pack Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen Louise Miller and Deborah Ruth Neal; three brothers, Everette Miller, Jr., Ronald Miller, and Tommy Miller;
three sisters, Opal Armstrong, Margaret Leake, and Anna Lee Lusk.

R. B. retired from the Logan County Board of Education where he served his last 13 years as Principal of Christian Grade School. He taught school for many years serving at Earling Grade School, Monaville Grade School, and Amherstdale Grade School. R. B. always talked about the students that he guided in his school career as "his children". He was a caring person to each and every child he nurtured while here on earth. A Christian, R.B. was a member of the Man Church of the Nazarene. In his young life, R.B. was a preparation plant manager on the tipple of Logan Powellton Coal Company which his parents owned. After serving in the Army during WWII, he married his high school sweetheart, Helen Bowen in 1947.

Those left to cherish his memory are
his wife of 65 years, Helen Bowen Miller;
his children, Bill (Vicki) Miller and Randy (Virginia) Miller, both of Charleston, and Monty (Dianna) Miller of Davin, Vickie (Chuck) Flowers of Greenville, and Pamela (George) Greer of Phoenix, AZ;
one sister, Juanita (Bill) Loudermilk of Knoxville, TN;
ten grandchildren, Joshua Justice of Chapmanville whom Helen and R.B. helped raise, Brandi, Becky, Sheila, Stephanie, Randy, Jr., Randall, Gerime, Angela, and Lisa;
twenty great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by his best friends, Jesse, Buddy Boy, and Little Girl.

Funeral service at the Man Church of the Nazarene at Man with Rev. Brian Pope officiating. Burial in Christian Community Cemetery at Christian.
