He was a retired employee of the Sanitary Board of the city of South Charleston and was a World War II veteran. Mr. Adkins lived in South Charleston 23 years. He was a native of Logan.
Surviving: wife, Mildred Massey Adkins; daughters, Mrs. Glorida Bird of Fairborn, Ohio, Mrs. Sharon Roach of South Charleston; father, Wetzel Adkins of Teays Valley; brothers, Robert of Teays Valley, Vernon of Baltimore, Maryland, Sebert of Charleston; sisters, Mrs. Glenna Massey of Washington D.C., Mrs. Ruby Jenkins of Logan, Mrs. Lahoma Justice of Charleston; five grandchildren.
