OBITUARY :
RONALD LEE (RON) ADAMS, 66, of 2784 Thompson Road, Needmore, Pennsylvania, went home to sing in God's heavenly choir on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

He was born April 9, 1940 in Tilghmanton (Fairplay), Maryland. He was the son of the late Malcolm and Elta V. Moats Crawford.

He served in the U. S. Navy from 1957 to 1963.
Ron retired from Lowe's in April of 2005 and continued to be a substitute driver for D & R Delivery at Cearfoss.

He was a member of the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship where he served on the Search Committee, Church Board, and Property and Stewardship Commission.

He was an active sports enthusiast, watching his two oldest grandsons run track, and the younger ones play baseball. He enjoyed football, baseball, and Nascar.

He was active in helping with youth projects. He had traveled to help hurricane Katrina victims in November of 2005. He had gone with the youth several times to Creation, a music and worship festival, and had recently traveled to Colorado for the National Youth Conference of the Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of the Clear Spring American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Carolyn M. (Durbin) Adams; two daughters, Nicole Lynn Row, and husband, Tim, of Hagerstown, Maryland and Sarah Jane Spessard, and husband, Nick, of Needmore, Pennsylvania; one son, Michael Aaron Adams, and wife, Lourdes, of Far Rockaway, New York; two sisters, Barbara Clemens of Alexandria, Virginia, and Cynthia Jones of Hagerstown; one brother, Donnie Lee Adams of Newberg, Maryland; and grandsons, Dustin Adams, Wade Miller, Andrue Spessard, Ethan Row, and Airan Spessard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship. Rev. Len Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
