Gerald Arthur McQueen, 62, of Plano, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, Illinois. He was born on February 13, 1942 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Willard G. and Anna (Lowen) McQueen.
    He was united in marriage on July 20, 1991 to the former Maria Rodica Haiduc and they spent the next 12 happy years of their lives together. He was a loving husband, father, step father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
    Gerald was employed, for over 44 years, by Sealmaster Bearing in Aurora, Illinois as a stock selector. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano, Illinois. Gerald loved traveling, and had visited 45 out of the 50 states. Gerald was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, he enjoyed collecting model trains, and had a room in his home devoted to his collection. Mr. McQueen, for the last 34 years, had been an active member of "A.A.", in this area.
    He is survived by his wife, Maria Rodica McQueen of Plano, IL; his daughters, Tamara (Bill) McQueen-Salentine of Aurora, IL and Lora De War of Sugar Grove, IL; his step son, Adrian (Andrea) Florescu of Plano, IL; his grandchildren, Hannah De War and Liam Salentine; his brother, Richard (JoAnn) McQueen of Morehead, Kentucky; and his nephews, Michael (Tammy) McQueen of Hinckley, IL, Richard (Michelle) McQueen of Florence, Kentucky and Robert McQueen of Florence, Kentucky; as well as one great niece and two great nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard G. and Anna McQueen.
    Funeral Services for Mr. McQueen will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, Illinois with Father Victor Incardona officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, Illinois.
    Friends may call from 1 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, Illinois.
