Arthur Leaming Long, 80, died unexpectedly at 1 PM Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, in his Lafayette home. Born June 9, 1921, in Lafayette, he had been a resident all of his life. He attended DePauw University. He was married to Ruby Todd on Nov. 18, 1949, in Lafayette, and she survives.

Mr. Long was branch manager for Moran Electric for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 11, Masonic Lodge 492, and a life member of Elks Lodge.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Kathryn L. Zigler (husband Martin) of St. Louis, MO, and Kerrin D. Long of Salem, OR; two sisters, Winifred LeBegue of Lafayette and Irene Freestone of West Lafayette; one brother, Robert Long (wife Carol) of St. Louis, MO; and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers, Morton and William Long; and a sister, Jeannette Dearing.
