Lydia's oldest and immigrant ancestor in the United States was Governor John Webster, born 1590, 5th governor of Connecticut. John and his wife Agnes came here from England with their children.
Of course there were many others born to these families but this is a biography for Lydia and not the entire Webster genealogy! Her line appears as follows:
1. Their son, Lieutenant Robert Webster married Susannah Treat.
Robert and Susannah had Deacon Jonathan who married Dorcas Hopkins.
2. Deacon Jonathan and Dorcas had Jonathan who married Esther Judd.
3. Jonathan and Esther had Jonathan who married Mabel Risley.
They had Asiel (also seen as Asahel) who married Hanna Price.
4. Asiel and Hanna had Giles Webster.
5. Giles married Huldah Thornton. They had Robert.
6. Lydia's parents were Robert and Lydia (Pettee) Webster who had only 2 children, Silas and Lydia.
I have yet to find Robert's burial place.
Lydia was teaching school in Vermont at age 13. She married John Aldrich Pratt in Stamford, VT 21 Feb 1836. I think I found a record that says marriage was elsewhere but I believe I have copy from VT and I'm fairly certain they married in Stamford, Vermont.
John A. Pratt brought 21 persons looking to locate in Lake County, Illinois. They arrived here in 1854. From what I was told it was at the request of Justice Bangs and it was Bangs' farm they first lived on.
